Alarms do not cause exits, but some alerts still can. You have the ability to silence sensor alerts for high alerts, high and low alerts, or all sensor alerts. You can enter in a duration for silence and can set the pump to beep, vibrate or both. With Guardian™ 4 sensor, no fingersticks are required with SmartGuard™ technology.

View your diabetes data on your compatible smartphone or Apple^® watch, so you can easily track your glucose levels and get notifications such as if you’re trending high or low. The MiniMed™ 780G system has the only diabetes mobile app from Medtronic compatible with select Apple^® watch versions. A compatible iPhone^® is required to enable the Apple^® watch extension.

Tandem uses a treat-to-range algorithm. It adjusts to a range of sensor sugar and only provides 60% of a correction bolus every hour. The MiniMed™ 780G system is a treat-to-target algorithm which can drive the blood sugar to the lowest target on the market of 100 mg/dL or (110 mg/dL or 120 mg/dL). MiniMed™ 780G is also the only system with meal detection technology* that provides automatic adjustments and corrections^† to sugar levels every 5 minutes^§ and helps cover underestimated carb counts or an occasional missed meal bolus.

*Taking a bolus 15 – 20 minutes before a meal helps to keep blood sugar levels under control after eating.

The transmitter battery is designed to last up to seven days and can be charged using the charger, which requires a AAA alkaline battery. Please call our tech support number 1-800-MINIMED (800-646-4633) to find out ways to improve your sensors life.

The battery life depends on a variety of factors in addition to auto corrections. User results may vary. AA alkaline (LR6) or nickel metal hydride (HR6) batteries are compatible with the MiniMed™ 780G system. It is recommended to use a Lithium-ion battery (F6) as they have been shown to have the longest battery life. Batteries should be stored at room temperature and not in a refrigerator or other cold locations.

The MiniMed™ 780G system does not differentiate between protein, fat, or carbohydrate. It automatically adjusts* and corrects^† sugar levels every 5 mins based off sensor glucose readings when in SmartGuard™ technology. Patients will still need to bolus in SmartGuard™ for meals. With meal detection technology*, if the system detects a meal based on rise in sensor glucose levels, it automatically delivers stronger correction^† doses up to every 5 minutes^§ for those occasional missed meal doses or undercounted carbs.
