Using the Bolus Wizard™ feature
Device: MiniMed™ 770G insulin pump
For a correction bolus or a food bolus with a correction, make sure you use your blood glucose (BG) meter to check your BG prior to delivering the bolus.
Please note that the bolus amounts show below are for illustration purposes only. Your bolus amounts will be different.
To deliver a food bolus:
Press Select.
Select Bolus.
Select Bolus Wizard.
The Bolus Wizard screen shows your current BG meter reading and any insulin that is still active from previous boluses. Select Carbs.
Press Up to enter the amount of carbs you are eating and press Select.
Select Next.
Select Deliver Bolus.
It is important to note that Active Insulin is never adjusted (subtracted) from a food bolus.
To deliver a correction bolus without food:
Press Select.
Select Bolus.
Select Bolus Wizard.
If using a linked meter, the BG is on screen. Skip to step 5. If not, select BG. Press Up or Down to enter BG and press Select.
Press Down and select Next.
Select Deliver Bolus.
In this example, there was Active Insulin to adjust–it was subtracted from the correction dose.
To deliver a bolus for food and correction:
Press Select.
Select Bolus.
Select Bolus Wizard.
If using a linked meter, the BG is on screen. Skip to step 5. If not, select BG. Press Up or Down to enter BG and press Select.
Select Carbs.
Press Up to enter grams of carbs and press Select.
Select Next.
Select Deliver Bolus.
